Hey there, I'm Rishabh Gupta.
A software engineer based in Pune.
I'm a software engineer at rtCamp, a WordPress development agency. I build WordPress plugins, including publishing tools for newsrooms.
Before rtCamp, I was an R&D intern at BMC Software, bringing tenant and service data from multiple clusters into one PostgreSQL-backed portal.
I've contributed to two of Newspack's open-source plugins, one for text-first publishing and one for live coverage. News that loads on a poor connection. Live updates that don't make you lose your place. That's the kind of detail I enjoy figuring out.
I also spent a few months as a Happiness Engineer, helping people troubleshoot technical issues. The work meant understanding what someone was trying to do, working through the problem, and making the next step clear. A fix only helps if the person asking can use it.
Beyond publishing, I've built Tipuleemo for dental crown ordering and a practice management system for Kaya Dental. Appointments, prescriptions, billing, lab orders. Plenty to get right before the next patient walks in.
You'll also find me in open source. My contributions cover PHP compatibility, editor components, permissions, automated tests, email rendering, store administration, and much more across WordPress core, Gutenberg, WooCommerce, and Jetpack.
Away from the keyboard, I play football and follow Manchester United. Make of that last part what you will.
Have a project in mind, or a problem you'd like to work through? Let's talk.
